A Donald Ross gem

Hope Valley Country Club (HVCC) was founded in 1926 and the course was built by the world famous golf course architect, Donald J. Ross. Through the years our course has had the distinction of hosting many wonderful golf tournaments. They include the U.S. Amateur Qualifying for both Men and Women, the U.S. Senior Men’s Qualifying, the North Carolina Amateur Championship, Carolinas Junior Boy’s Championship, Women’s Western Junior National Championship and Carolinas Junior Girl’s Championship. The tournament moment we are most proud of, though, took place on April 1, 1945. It was here that Byron Nelson won the Durham Open, his fourth victory, of eleven tournaments in a row — a PGA TOUR record, which we’re sure you will agree will never be duplicated.

Hope Valley is ready to host some of the best junior golfers with the start of The Hope Valley Junior Invitational. The inaugural Tournament was held August 13 – 16, 2018. The HVJI will become a regular event to be held the first week in August.
