Macy Pate is one the top girl competitors. She and her dad, Chris, paused play to talk for a couple of minutes. Macy plays at Old Town Club in Winston Salem. She is just 16 but will graduate one year early from Reagan High School next Fall. She said, “The practice round lets me get calibrated to the course, and I like to work around the greens, which will make me more confident in the tournament.” She was also looking forward to the Long Drive Contest.
